Being adopted means...I was taken from one set of parents given to another with no choice.Reunion means...I make the decision to search for my roots. I do have a choice.
Being adopted means...I need to find something about myself that I can call my own. So, I look for myself.
Reunion means...I find my past, my heritage, my story. I am starting to heal.
Being adopted means...Envying other families who look like one another.
Reunion means...Finding other commonalities besides looks to share.
Being adopted means...I am not whole, there is a piece of me missing.
Reunion means...I am whole and empowered to finally be ME.
Being adopted means...I am stagnant afraid of the unknown.
Reunion means...I am free, no more ghosts or shadows...time to grow.
Being adopted means...I yearn for my fantasy parents who gave me away.
Reunion means...I meet my birth parents and nothing will ever be the same.
Being adopted means...Treat me any way you will, only don't abandon me.
Reunion means...Treat me well or I will allow you to leave.
Reunion means...I AM NOW ME!!
